so they say the RIPPING pain is normal..

*laff*

My mom has commented a number of times about how I'll make a list of groans and gripes and my OB will say "yep.. normal". I had my first experience with that today (prior to this, every experience has been fairly abnormal, i think!)..

Last night I woke up around 3am with a ripping feeling in my upper right abdomen just below my rib cage. It came and went for about an hour and then got better. It felt like what I imagine being stabbed would feel like.. fun fun.. I wasn't worried about the bean since this was definitely way north of the baby.. but i still figured that something important like my gallbladder or appendix had caught on fire.

I called my OB earlier and talked to Myra (nurse).. she said that it was probably nerve pinches and muscle pulls from all the movement/stretching down there.. and that it was.. yep.. wait for it. "Normal". I guess it makes sense.. as things move north, all my squishy parts need to find a new home.

Meanwhile.. I'm on antibiotics for a UTI (i LOVE pregnancy).. and I'll be picking up my blood/glucose monitor after work. It turns out that i have reactive hypoglycemia, which is a precursor to diabetes.. no surprise there. If I have something loaded with sugar, my body over-reacts and pumps out too much insulin.. which results in a major sugar crash about 2-3 hours after I eat. This explains the crash during my 3-hour glucose test -- it also happened again on Sunday after I was a doofus and had pancakes with syrup for breakfast.. doh!

Good news.. we had a $1000/Sunday.. my debit card was burning! We bought the crib (it was being discontinued.. so we snagged it while we still could) and we also bought a camcorder. Speaking of the camcorder.. I'm going home so that I can play with it... get ready for some video clips of Ty, Nanook, Orca, Suckie, Dusty and Georgie!!!
