As soon as the ultrasound tech said "it's a boy", i gripped shiela's hand and was just overwhelmed with excitement and anticipation. What will he look like, how will his laugh sound, what will his smile look like, what will his voice sound like, when will he roll over, when will he crawl, when will he walk.. a whole life that is just starting.. what a miracle.
Ok.. nuts and bolts. He's doing just fine. He's measuring a full week ahead of the "norm", so he's on the big side. No one seems really concerned about that.. just lots of comments about him being a "big baby" but that it sometimes evens out in the end. He's got two arms, two legs, and all the correct parts in between. They had some trouble getting a good shot of his face because he was facing toward my back. They also had some trouble getting all of the required views of his heart because of his position.. so we may end up having another ultrasound to double check that.
I got a clean bill of health still.. my blood pressure was really low for me.. 115/62, which is basically unheard of for me. They are watching me closely and have told me that they'll be bugging me toward the end with lots of office visits and ultrasounds to be sure our little guy stays on track.
I can't tell you how excited we both are.. we went straight up to Babys 'r Us and bought him his first red sox cap.. *grin*..
Here are some pics.. our little Avatar has gone from a little guy with an arrow on his head to the Terminator... see?

The next picture is a bit of proof that he is all boy..

What a wonderful day.
