Grandparents and Great-Grandparents, oh my!

well it was a busy busy weekend.. but lots of fun!

we went to eileen's baby shower and got to hang out with barb, sally, davina, bella and of course, eileen. we also got to visit with anna for a bit before we headed over to Joe's for brunch.

then the whirlwind began -- we drove down to CT and stopped at my dad's on the way. I had given them a bit of a hint by saying that we had "news" and that we wanted to stop by for a few minutes. Both dad and patti were very happy about being grandparents again. We visited for about a half hour or 45 minutes or so, which was nice.

On our way back to mom's.. I got a voicemail from beck.. she had told ashley about the baby and was working up to tell adam. Ashley was, like always, very cool about everything. She didn't really have questions, but they did talk about the donor and the fact that shiela is going to adopt n stuff. Then comes adam. She told him at some point yesterday and after his jaw dropped, he got excited and said "i told her to do that!". He's convinced that his comment a few months ago about how i should have a baby was the turning point! He's also very excited about the fact that the baby's due date is right around his birthday.

They came over to mom's for a bit around dinner time and he was very cute.. he didn't ask any questions really, but he did pat my belly a few times. It was very cute.

Let's see.. we went to the movies with my mom to see the davinci code.. i think i would have liked it better if i had read the book.. it seemed a bit disjointed and my back was killing me, so it felt like the movie lasted 4 hours.

On sunday, we helped my mom out with some yard work. By "we".. I mean "shiela".. and then we headed over to my grandparents to tell them about the baby. It was awesome.. they were SO excited. My grandfather is talking about how he has to tell everyone that his 15th great grandchild is on the way and my grandmother launched into some of the important questions about our donor.. like what color his eyes are. *grin*

Because we like rain so much.. we decided to leave CT and start our drive back home timed so that we followed a major line of thunderstorms.. it was lovely.
